The Electrical Industries Charity is looking for 25 enthusiastic, passionate and fit trekkers to embark on our largest fundraising challenge – £100,000 by February 2017 – to support research into a rare form of cancer and give financial assistance to the Hendrie Family.
These dates will mean that the night we push for the summit will be a full-moon, illuminating the glaciers and lighting our path.
Fundraising goal per person: £5,000

CLIMB this magical mountain, captivated by its unmistakable snow-capped peak that has been the dream of keen trekkers as well as seasoned mountaineers for decades.
REST in secluded camps, sharing stories with local guides and falling asleep to the nocturnal sounds of Africa.
VIEW from the peak is a vista that will stay with you forever.
YOUR EXPEDITION to the roof of Africa is the equivalent of travelling on a trip from the Equator to the Arctic. It is a true experience of this wonderful Earth, from bushland to tropical forest, the moorland to heath and alpine desert.
Day 1 Depart London
Day 2 Arrive in Marangu and have an introduction dinner
Day 3 Begin ascent through Rongai Forest (2600m)
Day 4 Climb to Kikelewa moorland (3600m)
Day 5 Steady ascent beneath Mawenzi (4330m); afternoon acclimatisation.
Day 6 Cross lunar desert of the ‘Saddle’ to Kibo, at the bottom of summit cone (4750m).
Day 7 Early start to reach Gillman’s Point in time for sunrise over the crater rim; on to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa (5895m). Descend to Horombo (3720m).
Day 8 Continue descent to Mandara and Marangu.
Day 9 Depart Marangu for flights back home.
Day 10 Arrive London
