Mt Kilimanjaro

Mt Kilimanjaro

What an amazing achievement to say you have climbed the tallest free standing mountain on earth with an elevation of 5,895 metres above sea level, located in Tanzania, Africa. Eight brave individuals set themselves up for the challenge of a lifetime to help one particular family who lost their father, electrician Christopher Hendrie to a rare form of cancer in just 9 weeks. Andrew Dykes, Senior Estimator of SES Engineering Services Ltd, explained to us pre-trip why he embarked on this trek “I have taken on this challenge as I know that we all sometimes need help and support through difficult times in our lives. On this occasion, the Hendrie family need the support of others to give hope to the family and create a better brighter future.

Want to know how it went? A couple of climbers have shared their experiences in words for you.

Johanne Stimson “An amazing experience that I enjoyed every single second of—my life will never be the same. The trip has showed me I can be massively determined and motivated to see something through, my passion and stubbornness help me to do my 100% best.”

Denise Hilier “What an experience! A real adventure that has been life changing. I have new confidence in myself and my ability. I met some of the kindest and bravest people ever … Summit night- I cried- I laughed- I swore a lot- I talked to myself-and I talked to my dad. But most of all, I realised what is possible with dedication and determination.”

Thanks to our climbers we have raised over £80,000 towards the £100,000 target. If you are interested in taking part in one of our challenges please contact Jess Vailima This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for more information.
