We like to give our supporters the opportunity to let everyone share in their amazing fundraising experiences, the hard work and the tough challenges they took part in whilst raising money for our charity. We also like to see all the fun, whacky and creative things our supporters have been getting up to and helping to put smiles on peoples faces. So check out our EIC gallery and see what our supporters have been up to.

Western Golf Day returned this June to Calcot Golf Club Reading for a great day out on the fairways with industry members trying their luck for nearest the pin and longest drive. Luckily, the weather held out and golfers enjoyed 18 holes on the Pinehurst Course soaking in the picturesque sights of Calcot Manor. Post golf everyone enjoyed a delicious home-cooked meal and lots of our attendees won big in the raffle taking home all manner of prizes from champagne to speakers to grills. A huge congratulations to all of our winners on the day including Team Kew who took first place. Thanks to our sponsors CircPro, all of our raffle donators and Bell Lighting. In total, the Western Region Golf Day and its supporters raised over £4,000. We can’t wait to do it all again.

Delicious three course dinner followed an active day on the course. The event raised over £10,000 for our industry. Huge thank you to prime sponsors – Ultra, Capula, Equans and Schneider Electric, as well as our sporting partner Bell Lighting. See you all on 9th June 2022!

powerBall returned for 2021 and this time we took attendees to the streets of Paris for an unforgettable journey through the Moulin Rouge and beyond. Guests were entertained with a sparkling drinks reception thanks to sponsors Aico and Bell Lighting and then enjoyed the main show with a delicious three course dinner sponsored by Legrand and the main event kindly sponsored by CEF and entertainment sponsor Wago. Glen Dimplex helped kick proceedings off with a game of higher or lower and the Schneider grand raffle meant guests could get their hands on a diamond bracelet or a designer handbag. We crowned lots of winners on the evening but the real winner was all of those in the industry who will be supported by the record breaking figure raised on the evening. Together we raised over £280,000 to support sector colleagues in need, an incredible total which will make a huge difference to those the EIC assist.

powerBall returned for 2021 and this time we took attendees to the streets of Paris for an unforgettable journey through the Moulin Rouge and beyond.

A cracking night was had by all at the first ever Southern Sportsperson’s Dinner 2019! Located at the Arora Hotel in Crawley, attendees enjoyed a night of great food and even better company. Sporting triumphs and off-the-field West Ham insider stories were shared by our key speaker, legend Alvin Martin! Aaron James also had the crowd laughing and in high spirits with a bit of comedy, followed by an excellent raffle in aid of the Electrical Industries Charity. An incredible effort raising over £3k that will go directly to helping those in the industry going through tough times.

First of its kind, the Eastern Summer Ball had an amazing intro year at the beautiful Dunston Hall Hotel. With over 180 industry members in attendance the event was a huge success raising over £10,000 for the electrical sector. Eastern Committee Chairman Andie Morris guided guests through the evening as host, and a cheeky game of Heads or Tails saw one lucky winner bag a complimentary return stay at Dunston Hotel. There were raffle prizes galore, from afternoon tea at The Shard to a Smart TV and much, much more. And finally, the fabulous band, Playback, kept the dancefloor jam-packed and everyone truly entertained! Huge thanks goes out to event sponsor – Glen Dimplex as well as our event partner WAGO and all raffle and auction prize donators.

Western Golf Day swings for success!

Western Golf Day returned this June to Calcot Golf Club Reading for another fun day out on the fairways with industry members trying their luck for nearest the pin and longest drive. Unfortunately, the weather was very on and off but that didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits, with golfers still enjoying 18 holes and soaking in the picturesque sights of Calcot Manor. Post golf, everyone enjoyed a delicious 2-course meal with the beautiful array of flavoured cheesecakes being the highlight of the lunch! Lots of our attendees won big in the raffle taking home all manner of prizes from champagne to TV’s. A huge congratulations to all of our winners on the day. Thanks to our attendees and raffle donators and Garo Electric for their prize donation. We can’t wait to do it all again in 2023!

What a fantastic day of fun and fishing on the Gold Valley Lakes, for our London Region Fishing Day 2022! It was great to be back on the bank for this event after a two-year enforced Covid gap. Fifty-four anglers descended on Gold Valley Lakes near Aldershot for the twentieth annual London Region fishing day.

Many Bacon rolls were devoured on arrival and lots of catching up between the many returning participants! The drinks trolley went off on its first-round addended by Lee Woolaway from Greenbrook Electrical and Peter Bonington from Selectric, they also did a magnificent roll of raffle ticket sales. The weather was spot on for fishing - warm, slightly overcast with a light wind but obviously, it was thirsty work as the trolley had to be restocked mid-way round!

With the weigh-in completed, it was time for the results and prize presentation. With £1000 worth of angling prizes, pools money, and £700 of raffle prizes up for grabs. The weigh-in was followed by a well-deserved hog roast, which I heard was the real catch of the day! The Electrical Industries Charity raised just over £3,00, an incredible amount that will help those in the sector tremendously.

A very big thank you to all those who help support the event with donations and prizes, of which there were some brilliant ones up for grabs - we could not do it without you. A special mention to our headline sponsor for the day, Scolmore, and to Lee Woolaway and Peter Bonington for their help.

The Electrical Industries Charity and industry friends celebrated powerBall’s 100th anniversary in Great Gatsby style at the Park Lane, Hilton with a party to end all parties. There were a flapper themed dance troupe, music provided by sensational four-piece Icons and Anthems and a giant martini glass complete with dancer inside. An incredible evening was had by all and a staggering £120,000 was raised for the EIC. We would like to extend a special thank you to our sponsors CEF, Schneider Electric, AICO and Glen Dimplex as well as all those who donated raffle prizes and pledged generous amounts to the charity on the night. We can’t wait to do it all again with you at the Park Lane, Hilton on the 13th November 2020 for A French Affaire.

This November we danced the night away in style at the De Vere Tortworth Estate with industry colleagues and friends to celebrate the beginning of the festive season at the South West Region Annual Ball. Fun was had by all who attended with an incredible magician and top-tappingly good band which wowed everyone. There was phenomenal support from the industry for the South West Ball and we raised over £12,000 for those in our industry who need support most. We cannot wait to do it all again on Friday 20th November 2020 again at the De Vere Tortworth.

We had some big winners on the night with several auction lots reaching top bids of up to £3,200. The Glasgow region and the lunch guests raised over £36,000 for those in our industry who need assistance most. A phenomenal figure from a show-stopping afternoon.

The star-studded Midlands Christmas Gala Ball returned to the ICC Birmingham for another beautiful evening to ring in the festive season across the Midlands region. This year, we had a record turn out for the yuletide dinner dance which saw the tables adorned with Christmas wreaths and towering trees surrounded by stacks of presents. Pure Genius, a new band for 2019, kept the crowd entertained with funky remixes of some of our favourite songs. A DJ kept the party going until 1am and the event raised over £30,000 for the Electrical Industries Charity. We would like to extend a special thank you to our raffle prize sponsors, donators and gold sponsors Schneider Electric.

To celebrate the completion of The Big Build, sponsors, donators, challengers and the Dickinson family came together at St Mary's Guildhall, Coventry for an unforgettable night. The Dickinson new family home has been two years in the making and has gone from just an idea to a reality for the family. It is incredible for all of those who have helped along the way to come together and celebrate all that has been achieved. We'd like to say a massive thank you to everyone who helped make this dream a reality.

In September of 2019 a group of eleven explorers, including the Electrical Industries Charity’s (EIC) CEO and MD Tessa Ogle, took to the Himalayas in a bid to reach Everest Base Camp and raise as much money as they could for our sector.

Despite some initial poor weather which meant the team didn’t set off for camp until two days after their expected departure, their journey was incredible. The group became close-knit and the sense of accomplishment every member felt was undeniable. Since returning home the group have began to recover and have started to feel more human again after a physically and mentally exhausting expedition. All the participants remarked on how much tougher the trip was then they anticipated, especially when you are carrying a 15kg kit bag up to Base Camp with you. Although the trip was tough the group remarked that their Everest trip had only wettened their appetite for a challenge and some of the participants have already signed up to their next challenge for a cause event.

Most importantly, for all their efforts, the group managed to raise an astonishing £50,000 for those in our sector who need assistance most. We’d like to say a massive thank you to the whole team for their fundraising efforts.

We'd like to say thank you to our flag sponsors: Keepmoat Homes, Rexel UK Ltd, Schneider Electric, Ansell Lighting, WMQ Building Services, Univolt UK, JR Pridham Services, EFT Consult, Metpro Ltd, Cogent, Glen Dimplex, Light Wave RF and Prysmian Group.

This September a team of six sailing novices took to the Mediterranean Sea to compete in the 15th Annual IT Regatta for the Electrical Industries Charity. They began the journey not knowing each other and with a whole heap of sailing knowledge to learn. The team were to sleep, eat and sail the boat morning to night and while undertaking a completely new skill had to try win nine races against sailing professionals, hobbyists and native Croats. Easy right? Amazingly, the team of Dominic Lorenzo from Edmundson’s, Daren Pool of Triple Star Fire and Security, JTL’s Gordon Evans, the ECA’s own and committee member Martin Cordery, Alban Ford of Electric Centre and Terry Woods from Environment managed to place 11th in the regatta. The team raised an incredible amount for the EIC and we can't thank them enough for their hard work both off and on the yacht.

Another beautiful night of celebration in Glasgow to mark London Valentine’s Ball 2019. Great food and entertainment were enjoyed by almost 180 guests. Thanks to their generosity £15,000 were raised for Electrical Industries Charity so that we can continue supporting people in electrical industry. We hope to see everyone again in 2020 at the beautiful Grand Central Hotel Glasgow.

The change in season was celebrated in style at the Western Equinox Ball 2019! Attendees enjoy another fabulous evening of fine dining, excellent entertainment and good company surrounded by industry friends and partners! Our MC Ian Roberts made us chuckle and Candy Apple Blue got us up on our feet dancing the evening away! A huge thankyou extends to Wiska the headline sponsor as well as Glen Dimplex, entertainment sponsor and Rexel the Drinks Sponsor! A tremendous fundraising effort for the Electrical Industries Charity at almost £8.5K!

Midlands Stoneleigh Golf Day returned to the picturesque Stoneleigh Deer Park for another fantastic day of golfing. The teams enjoyed 18 holes on the fairways, with plenty of shots clearing the waters and bunkers and landing nicely on the manicured greens of beyond. The votes are in and the verdict’s been reached that this year’s Glasgow Valentine’s Ball has been the best yet…

The entertainment for the night stole the show, with Edward Reid and the Jersey Tones ensuring everyone was out of their seats and waving their hands, napkins, balloons, (and our banners), in the air!

The lads were looking sharp and ladies dazzling in their suits and gowns, whilst the bubbles were flowing and spirits in the room high. A lot of laughs, dances and love was shared between all of the beautiful couples in attendance.

Thank you so much to all of our attendees and table hosts for creating such an electric atmosphere. And special acknowledgment goes to our headline sponsors, WMQ Building Services, and entertainment sponsors, MACD Electrical.

Can’t wait to see you all to top it off in 2019 x

Congratulations to CEF’s winning team - Chris Young, Peter Morris, Tony Selly, and Carl Brambani! Can’t wait for 2018!!

The Charity utilised its Practical Participation Programme and worked together with companies such as Heat Mat, Edmundson Electrical York, British Gas, Circle Control & Design Systems and Collingwood Lighting who had donated their products, services and skills and funded the shortfall of £26,000 for the necessary house adaptations to meet Max’s needs.
The Charity then organised a DIY day with volunteers from the Yorkshire Committee and landscaped the garden to allow easier access for Max – truly an industry effort.
