Electrical Industries Charity - Give a gift that keeps on giving

Every year the Electrical Industries Charity (EIC) makes dreams come true for thousands of employees and their families within the electrical sector through its Practical Participation Programme (PPP) which harnesses your invaluable engineering and installation skills in terms of time, equipment and materials to provide support to those who need it most.

PPP is part of the Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) which is directly funded by powerLottery and provides exclusive access to support services for people within our sector who are struggling with financial issues, mental health problems or need a helping hand.

The EIC is offering you a chance to show your support and give back to the industry while making a lasting contribution to thousands of people’s lives by becoming a partner of the PPP.

Volunteers with specialist skills like yours can help the EIC to continue delivering long-term solutions to thousands of industry colleagues in need and play a pivotal role in changing people’s lives while dramatically helping to reduce the Charity’s costs.

A recent example which highlights how your partnership and contribution to the PPP can deliver large-scale solutions and help to provide practical assistance to people in need is the Rhodes family. The Electrical Industries Charity worked together with dozens of industry professionals to make a dream come true for a young boy William Rhodes. Nine-year-old William is suffering from a rare genetic blood condition - Diamond-Blackfan Anaemia and requires blood transfusions every three weeks. William’s number one wish was to have a football pitch in his garden. EIC fulfilled his dream by laying down an all-weather football pitch using artificial grass with floodlights in his garden, so William will be able to play football all year round.

William is just one of many examples which highlight how support from the industry can make a remarkable difference in someone’s life.
