A team of 10 cyclists from Rexel UK are taking on a 400-mile challenge to raise money for the Electrical Industries Charity and Macmillan Cancer Support.

The enthusiastic team of ten will be cycling from Bordeaux to Paris to raise vital funds which will go towards the Electrical Industries Charity’s Challenge for a Cause campaign that aims to create a brighter future for the Dickinson family. With its Challenge for a Cause, the Charity aims to raise £250,000 to purchase a house and work with industry professionals to carry out any necessary renovation work which is required to help Caz with her development and safeguard the Dickinson family’s future.

The team includes Purchasing Director, Peter Elliott; Corporate Sales Director Chris Gibson and Phil Wyatt; Regional Sales Director, North. The team will set off on their 400-mile cycle challenge on Tuesday 12 September 2017 from Bordeaux and will enjoy the charms of St Yrieix le Perche, Chateauroux and Orleans before reaching the Rexel UK global headquarters in Paris on Friday 15 September 2017.

The Rexel UK team are aiming to raise £30,000 for both the Electrical Industries Charity and Macmillan Cancer Support. 1 in 4 people in the UK suffer with cancer, therefore the industry has felt the impact of this. Macmillan Cancer Support and the Electrical Industries Charity formally signed a Memorandum of Agreement in July to jointly fund families affected by cancer in the sector.

Now it is time to show your support and help the team to reach their fundraising target for this worthy cause.

Managing Director, Tessa Ogle says: “We would like to say a big thank you to Rexel UK for supporting our Challenge for a Cause by taking part in such an extraordinary challenge. We would also urge the industry to show their support for this remarkable experience which could change hundreds of lives.”
